St. Dominic's Hosts Magnolia Meltdown

On Saturday, May 24, 2008, St. Dominic's will join Jackson Heart Clinic and Jackson Pulmonary Associates to host the 2nd Annual Magnolia Meltdown 5K Run/Walk in the St. Dominic's and Fondren Neighborhood vicinity.  The race will begin at 8 a.m. at Dominican Plaza on St. Dominic's North Campus.

Pre-registration is $15 for adults participating in the run or walk and $10 for the kid’s one-mile run. The registration fee on the day of the race is $20 for adults and $10 for children. Pre-register by mail, postmarked by May 21, 2008.

The purpose of this event is to support statewide efforts to address the alarming rate of childhood and adult obesity in Mississippi and help raise both funds and awareness.  Proceeds from Magnolia Meltdown will benefit “Just Have a Ball”, a nonprofit organization that promotes children's fitness.
