Hernandez Named Director of Food and Nutrition Services
Officials at St. Dominic Hospital announced Paul Hernandez has joined the hospital as Director of Nutrition and Food Services.
Hernandez’ duties include oversight of patient nutrition and dietary needs; dietitians, dietary and cafeteria staff; hospital Cafeteria, Dominican Plaza Café and the St. D Deli.
“Given his background in hospital nutrition and food services, we expect Paul to be a strong asset to this very important area of St. Dominic’s organization,” said Lamar Nesbit, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at St. Dominic’s. “We look forward to incorporating his experience and ideas as we strive to better serve our patients, employees and the public.”
Hernandez, a Biloxi native, comes to St. Dominic’s from Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. He had a 14-year career there as Assistant Director of Nutrition and Food Services. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in healthcare administration.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve St. Dominic’s in this role that affects patients and the experience both visitors and employees receive on a daily basis,” Hernandez said. “I look forward to the challenges that come with growing this vital area.”
Hernandez and his wife, Jill, have two children; Davis, 4, and Rhyan, 2.
