Realizing most hospital stays today are not a result of disease but of unhealthy lifestyle choices, St. Dominic’s takes an active role in teaching individuals to take responsibility for their own health.  Disease prevention and reducing or eliminating risk factors within each individual are at the forefront of all St. Dominic’s outreach services.  Our wellness programs encourage you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, to stay active through exercise, enrichment and social activities, and to seek more holistic approaches to optimal health and well-being.

Healthy Lives Program

The Healthy Lives program of St. Dominic’s is offered to all St. Dominic’s employees and their spouses who are enrolled on the St. Dominic’s medical insurance plan. This program features annual health screenings, monthly health and wellness information and health coaching with registered nurses and registered dietitians.

Healthy Lives of St. Dominic’s is also offered to businesses who are interested in implementing a population health management program to improve their employees’ health and productivity while reducing health care spending. Healthy Lives has four components: data analytics and interpretation, health risk assessments, wellness services and professional health coaches/care managers who are registered nurses and dietitians. Our programs are tailored for each employer, delivering custom built, data driven corporate health and wellness services. Healthy Lives helps employers improve their bottom line through an unparalleled combination of deep clinical expertise, personal service, and comprehensive solutions.

If you’re expecting, you and your spouse can choose from a number of classes – from Prepared Childbirth, to Breastfeeding, to Infant CPR and Car Seat Safety – all designed to thoroughly prepare you both for your new arrival.

A number of support groups meet monthly on St. Dominic’s campus. They are free to the public and are led by professionals who understand what you are going through and have the resources to help you. In turn, you may inspire someone else and give hope to someone during a difficult time.

St. Dominic’s Health Plus navigators will assist patients in achieving a healthier lifestyle by establishing health needs and goals and utilizing St. Dominic’s services to develop a personalized health program that will provide the best results for each patient’s needs.

How does St. Dominic’s Health Plus work?

St. Dominic’s Health Plus serves as a centralized hub for St. Dominic’s many health and wellness services and programs through the assistance of health and wellness navigators. Individuals interested in accessing the St. Dominic’s Health Plus program may simply call 601-200-3333 to speak with a navigator and receive an over-the-phone health and wellness consultation. With the assistance of a navigator, individuals can be seamlessly scheduled to enroll in one or more of the St. Dominic’s health and wellness services.

What are the St. Dominic’s Health Plus Program Components?

When a St. Dominic’s Health Plus navigator completes a health and wellness consultation with a patient, the navigator will use information collected to help each patient prioritize his or her health concerns. Then, the navigator will work to develop an individualized health program specifi c to each patients’ needs using the St. Dominic’s health and wellness services.
