Men's Heart Health

Chest pain can be associated with conditions other than a heart attack.

Men who experience any of the warning signs of a heart attack should call 911 immediately.

Our experienced team of cardiac specialist will quickly evaluate your symptoms and determine what is causing your discomfort.

Signs of a heart attack for men:

  • Pain spreading to the shoulders neck or arms.
  • Uncomfortable pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain in the center of the chest lasting more than a few minutes.
  • Chest discomfort, feeling light-headed, fainting, sweating, nausea or shortness of breath.
  • Unusual chest pain, stomach or abdominal pain.
  • Nausea or dizziness.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Unexplained anxiety, weakness or fatigue.
  • Racing heartbeat, cold sweats or paleness.

Many men may have a few mild warning signs that come and go - or signs that only occur during certain physical activities like playing sports or mowing the lawn. This is the best time to take action and make an appointment with one of our Family Medicine Physicians for a physical. With a series of simple tests and some background information, your physician can determine the best course of treatment. He/she will be able assess your condition and complaints that are causing your symptoms.
