What is Coronary Artery Disease?
Coronary Artery disease occurs when plaque builds up in the arteries of your heart. This plaque limits the blood flow to your heart muscle which can ultimately lead to a heart attack.
Are You at Risk for Heart Disease, Heart Attack or Stroke?
OBESITY is not only a contributing factor for heart disease, heart attack and stroke, it also causes other contributing factors that put you at a higher risk for these to occur. According to the American Heart Association, 33.7 percent of Americans who are above the age of 20 are obese. Even worse, 31.9 percent of children and teenagers ages 2 to 19 years are clinically obese.
Take a proactive approach to your overall health. Know your risk factors. Unfortunately some contributing factors, such as family history of heart disease and age, cannot be controlled. If you do have a strong family history of heart disease, you should be even more aggressive in maintaining your health.
